had this installed yesterday opens up great but when you go to close the door it is extremely difficult to push the door close I'm very disappointed in this product, no way my kids can close the doors

Like many Revel owners, I have a big expedition box and double bike rack on one side and a heavy wheel/tire and ladder on the other side, so with the doors weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more loaded, when they swing shut it's a danger, and a gust of wind could cause serious injury. This totally prevents that and increases safety by a wide margin.

Works great and as advertised. I think if there were a piston with less closing force, it would be preferred, it is very difficult to close the doors - like trying to shove an elephant. Would definitely purchase again.

I'm fairly handy and still the install went so-so. There's a learning curve to the Rivnuts, for sure. The recommended Rivnut tool from Amazon does not work at all on a 2025 Revel, zero clearance for the scissor action. Installation a snap, just take time to center the holes. Excellent instruction video. No more hard door closings inadvertently or from the wind. No more fear of damaging doors
from a hard close with the Owl B2 and spare tire racks with heavy loads. Have struggled with the doors in high winds a couple times, now easily controlled and will stay open. When cutting the plastic trim suggest using a piece of wood to hold them up giving greater concentration to avoid fingers when cutting.

Great addition for heavy doors, both for opening and to avoid unexpected closing with wind. Two thumbs up!!
